Pewter
Goblets are the
goblets made by the metal known as pewter. They are actually
made up of an acquiescent metal alloy which comprises of
around 99 % of tin and the residual consisting of copper,
lead, bismuth and antimony. In Bronze Age, pewter was used
for the first time in the Near East.
These goblets
are comprised of cup basins, deep in nature attached on stem
with a base which is again flat in nature to support whole
cop. The goblets which are made by metal called pewter are
generally a elegant addition to one’s dining table, however,
drinking from old pewter can be harmful as it might contain
lead which is poisonous to health. Hence, composition is
needed to be analyzed, whether this old pewter has lead in
it or not, before using for drinking. However, please note
that all Pewter
Goblets do not
contain lead. Goblets which are made before 1700s, usually
comprises of tin as well as lead which creates a danger of
lead poisoning. Later on, another metal was created, name
English Pewter which comprises of alloy of tin, antimony and
copper .hence, the goblets and other utensils made by
English pewter do not have the risk of lead
poisoning.
Pewter
Goblets are
basically a brilliant gift for home decoration. They provide
special luster to the home. Designs carved in the goblets
are mainly inspired from different time periods like Roman,
Medieval, Greek, Victorian and the Renaissance era.
Different types of these Pewter goblets are available in
market some of which are the following: Albrecht Durer,
Alpine Sunset, Rheinland, Vintner and Weinlese.
Goblets are
commonly used for drinking however whether it can be used
for hot or cold drink is totally depended on its
composition. They basically came into use in traditional
ceremonies like wedding, other theme parties like children
birthday party etc
